Mad AF Impact Awards

Where Everyday Heroes Become Legends

Get ready for something revolutionary—a movement that celebrates and rewards the everyday heroes who are saving lives right in their own communities. Not the big organizations or well-funded nonprofits, but real people like you who step up and make a tangible difference.

Real Money for Real Heroes

Starting December 2025, we’re launching an unprecedented initiative as part of our MAD AF Trifecta strategy. We’re dedicating 50% of our entire Capital Pool to directly support community members who are taking action to save lives. No corporate winners. No organizational awards. Just real people creating real change.

The Life-Changing Numbers

Here’s how the awards break down:

  • First Place: 35% of the award pool
  • Second Place: 20% of the award pool
  • Third Place: 15% of the award pool
  • Seven Runners-Up: 3% each (21% total)
  • Ten Honorable Mentions: 0.9% each (9% total)

And remember—this isn’t funded by donations. Every piece of MAD AF gear sold contributes to our Capital Pool. The more we grow, the bigger these awards become. It’s all about fueling a cycle of positive impact: you support the movement, and we invest back into the community.

Your Path to Creating Change

We know that starting a community initiative might feel daunting, but we’re here to make it simple. This January, we’re launching a game-changing tool designed to turn your passion into action. Whether you’re already sharing our Weekly Actions or just joining the movement, this tool will help you:

  • Plan your initiative from start to finish
  • Access proven strategies from our Action Index
  • Track your real-world impact with concrete numbers
  • Document your journey every step of the way
  • Share challenges and solutions with others
  • Connect with fellow change-makers in the community

How the Impact Awards Work

  1. Design and Document Your Initiative
    • Use our free planning tool to map out your project.
  2. Track Your Progress and Impact
    • Monitor your reach and effectiveness throughout the year.
  3. Share Your Journey
    • Inspire others by sharing your experiences, challenges, and victories.
  4. Submit for Community Voting
    • At year’s end, submit your completed initiative for consideration.
  5. Receive Recognition and Awards
    • The top 20 initiatives, as voted by the community, will receive life-changing awards.

What Makes a Winning Initiative?

While we’ll provide detailed criteria when we launch our planning tool, here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Real, Measurable Community Impact
    • Show us how your initiative has made a tangible difference.
  • Clear Documentation of Your Journey
    • Keep a record of your actions, challenges, and successes.
  • Creative Solutions to Challenges
    • Demonstrate innovative thinking in overcoming obstacles.
  • Strong Community Engagement
    • Involve others and build a network of support.
  • Lives Saved Through Awareness
    • Provide evidence of how your efforts have directly or indirectly saved lives.

Important Guidelines

  • Eligibility
    • Only individuals or small groups can win—no organizations.
  • Community Voting
    • Winners are chosen based on votes from the community.
  • Documentation
    • Complete documentation through our tool is required.
  • Sharing Knowledge
    • Your documented challenges and solutions will help others succeed.
  • Model Initiatives
    • Successful projects become templates for other communities to replicate.

Part of Something Bigger

The Impact Awards are more than just recognition—they’re a crucial part of how we’re fighting the fentanyl crisis. As outlined in Part II of our Trifecta Strategy, when individuals leverage their natural talents and interests to create change, their impact multiplies exponentially.

This approach is grounded in Self-Determination Theory, a scientific principle that states people are more motivated and effective when they pursue goals aligned with their intrinsic interests and values. By empowering you to use your unique skills and passions, we’re tapping into a powerful catalyst for lasting community transformation.
